Drawn to a moment contest!
I can't believe I managed to finish it on time
. No idea why I wanted to enter this contest so badly, I usually don't care about competitions. Anyways, I spent almost the whole day drawing and here's the result. I hope you enjoy it! (Also got a cold today, what's up with that!?)
Anyone who doesn't recognize the subject: It's Amélie (Audrey Tautou) from the movie "le fabuleux destin d'amélie poulain". The colored pictures show Amélie when she was a little girl and the b/w ones show the adult Amélie.
I've seen this movie about 10 times because it's just perfect! It's got great actors, a moving story, makes me feel good after having watched it and the soundtrack is just one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard (The song that comes to my mind when looking at this drawing is
this one).
The screencaptures I've chosen are from different parts of the movie but all show moments that moved me.
This was done on A4 bristol paper. I used a 2b 0.5mm Pentel mechanical pencil for the black and white part. Kneadale eraser as well of course. Faber Castell's Polychromos are what I used for the colored part of the drawing.
It took me about 30 hours I'm guessing, I hope it was worth it!
As always, the scanner screwed up the colors.
